In 2009, the IBICA appointed Rev. Darrell Winger as executive director of the association, a quarter-time position that he holds in addition to staff assignments with The Meeting House, a Brethren in Christ congregation (Oakville, On., Canada).
Darrell has a rich history of leadership within the Brethren in Christ Church, having served as a pastor of the Stayner BIC congregation, missionary with BIC World Missions in Mozambique and Malawi, Bishop of the Canadian Conference, and General Secretary of the denomination. Darrell joined the ministry staff of The Meeting House in October 2005 and currently oversees completion of its “Mission 2” goals.
In addition to serving in the local church, Darrell continues to serve in denominational leadership as a member of the General Conference Board. He has served on various boards and committees, including the board of trustees of Niagara Christian Collegiate, Fort Erie, ON, and Messiah College, Grantham, PA.
Darrell is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University (Bachelor of Arts, Psychology) and Asbury Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity). He is currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program in systematic theology at Toronto School of Theology (University of Toronto).

Darrell is married to Anna Sider Winger. Anna, a Registered Nurse, is currently employed at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. The Wingers reside in Oakville, Ontario and are the parents of Sam, Abbie, and Jesse.
