Deb and Terry Brensinger have been committed members of the Brethren in Christ Church since 1976. They served as the pastoral couple at both Bloomington Chapel in Kentucky and Fellowship Chapel in New York City while Terry was in seminary and graduate school. In 1985, the Brensingers moved to Grantham, PA, where Terry began a 16-year stint teaching Old Testament and eventually chairing the Biblical and Religious Studies Department at Messiah College. In 2001, Deb and Terry became the Senior Pastoral couple at the Grantham Church, serving there until assuming their new assignment with the International Brethren in Christ Association.
In addition to such formal positions, the Brensingers have been heavily involved in various ministries in the Brethren in Christ Church and beyond. Deb, a trained Spiritual Director, teaches the Spirituality courses in the denomination’s Equipping for Ministry program, runs a private Spiritual Direction practice and teaches at the Kairos School for Spiritual Formation. Terry has for many years taught the Theology of the Church core course for the denomination, speaks regularly at churches, colleges and conferences, and has written or edited four books and a wide variety of articles.
The Brensingers have visited many countries around the globe and lived and taught in such places as Kenya, Israel, Jordan, Venezuela and Zambia. They deeply appreciate the diversity of God’s wondrous creation and have learned a great deal over the years from their brothers and sisters in distant places. Deb and Terry reside in Mechanicsburg, PA, and are the proud parents of three grown children, Tim, Jordan and Julie, each of whom share their parents’ love for God and the wider world.
